The Unexpected Spark Behind Then Take Me Too — And How It All Hit Me at Once

Hi everyone, and welcome to my very first blog post!
If you’re new here (which… all of you are), I’m a brand new aspiring author stepping into the world with my debut book, Then Take Me Too. Today I wanted to share the very real, very unexpected story of how it all began.

It Started With TikTok. Yes, Really.

Like a lot of chaotic creative ideas, mine didn’t arrive during some peaceful writing retreat or deep moment of reflection.
It hit me while I was mindlessly scrolling Tik Toks specifically through the endless edits of the slide actors that were taking over my “FYP”.

You know the ones: dramatic lighting, intense eyes, the kind of characters you swear could walk out of your phone and ruin your life in the best way.
The edits of Fryboy, Archer and all of the other Decayed Brigade members kept popping up until I couldn’t ignore the feeling anymore.

There was something in the aesthetic, the mood, the emotion of those slides…the way they told half a story in a few images. The sparks flew and it has been a journey since.

⚡ The Story Hit Me Like Lightning ⚡

I didn’t plan to write a book that day.
Honestly, I didn’t plan on ever being an author. I always had little ideas, from kids books to other potential novels. But there was something about this one that I could not wait to get out into the world!

But the idea for Then Take Me Too struck so fast it felt like someone pressed the “download button” directly into my brain. One minute I was scrolling, and the next I had characters, scenes, voices, a whole emotional world forming before I could even question it.

And once it started?
Everything moved too quickly, in the best and craziest way.

I went from “huh, that’s a cool edit” to “wait… this could be a story” to “oh my god I’m writing a book” in record time. Words poured out faster than I could type them. The characters refused to wait their turn. The plot unfolded like it had been sitting behind a door just waiting for me to open it.

🔥 How TikTok Turned Into a Book

No, my book isn’t about the slide actors but they ignited the spark, pun intended.
Their energy shaped the early vision: the intensity, the longing, the mystery, the aesthetic that feels just a little dangerous. They reminded me that a story doesn’t need to be calm or slow or perfectly planned. Sometimes it’s meant to grab you by the throat and drag you into it.

And that’s exactly what Then Take Me Too did to me.

Because inspiration can be weird.
It can be chaotic.
It can come from a place you’d never expect.

Kind of like sliding through edits at 1 AM with your phone too close to your face. I wont admit how many times I dropped it on my face.

But that’s the beauty of being a storyteller: you never know which moment will be the one that changes everything.

Thank you for being here at the beginning of this journey with me. I can’t wait to share more about the book, the characters, and everything that’s come from that one unexpected spark.
